In Daniel's own words: "The top notes — sharp and intense — symbolize the piercing sensation of the onset of a heart attack. The heart notes symbolize my time in the hospital. And the base notes symbolize the peace and calm of being home, recovered."

THE SCENT

Top Notes — Green Pear · Mandarin · Lime · Aldehyde · Chili · Pepper The opening hits fast and sharp — exactly as Daniel intended. Green pear and mandarin deliver a bright, slightly tart fruitiness that feels electric rather than sweet. Lime adds a sharp, zesty citrus urgency. Aldehyde — one of perfumery's most distinctive synthetic ingredients, cold and slightly metallic — amplifies the sharp, clinical quality of the opening. Chili and pepper crackle with a burning, slightly painful heat. Together they create an opening that is startling, vivid, and deeply uncomfortable in the best possible way — the body suddenly, violently, aware of itself.

Heart Notes — Cypress · Frankincense · Clary Sage The heart settles into something cooler and more meditative — the hospital. Cypress adds a sharp, slightly cold, slightly medicinal green woodiness — the smell of clinical spaces and of nature simultaneously. Frankincense rises with a sacred, resinous warmth — the incense of prayers and of waiting. Clary sage introduces an herbal, slightly tobacco-like smokiness that grounds the heart in a muted, slightly disorienting calm. The urgency of the opening fades. Time moves differently here.

Base Notes — Patchouli · Musk · Cedar · Sandalwood The dry-down is home. Patchouli arrives with an earthy, warm comfort — the smell of familiar rooms and familiar skin. Musk adds a clean, intimate warmth that feels like a second skin. Cedar contributes a dry, slightly resinous woodiness. Sandalwood wraps everything in a creamy, enveloping calm — the deep, grateful peace of a person who has been given more time. A dry-down that stays close to the skin for hours, quiet and profoundly reassuring.
