Daniel Josier began his life in fragrance the way all great stories begin — with a memory. Growing up in Castro Urdiales, on the northern coast of Spain, the young Daniel was captivated by two things: the salt air of the Cantabrian Sea, and the scent of his mother's beloved Van Cleef & Arpels First. Those two olfactory imprints shaped everything that followed.

Trained at the prestigious ISIPCA in Versailles — the world's leading school of perfumery — Daniel's true artistic awakening came through six transformative years under the mentorship of Jean Claude Ellena at Haarman & Reimer in Grasse, France. Ellena — the legendary master nose behind Hermès fragrances, widely considered one of the greatest perfumers of the modern era — became Daniel's director and creative guide from 1998 to 2004. Those years in Grasse taught him something that no school can teach: that perfumery extends far beyond technical chemistry into pure artistry, emotion, and magic.

After working with some of the world's most prestigious fragrance houses — crafting scents for L'Oréal, Puig, Unilever, Prada, Valentino, Rabanne, and Yves Rocher — Daniel Josier made the decision that changed everything. In 2014, he founded his own eponymous line. Not to create safe, commercial fragrances designed to appeal to everyone. But to create honest, deeply personal compositions that tell real stories — drawn from travel, love, memory, and the quiet moments that define a life.
